Steam & Roblox simply cannot be the last gaming innovations on publishing & marketplaces. The internet is the final platform. The metaverse isn't a website you go to. It's the converging standards that make your identity & inventory portable across environments.
It's really easy to get lost in hardened definitions when glossaries form around a category. patterns emerge and we mistake them as explicit symbols that define that category.
Gaming isn’t eating the world. We’re an information society whose file structures are forming a rich loam from which more complex environments evolve.
There may be installation moments like Steam's Half Life 2 that help form a critical mass but imo, XMTP, x402, WEBGPU, are metaverse narratives 100x more powerful than APE or WILDER WORLD
This may sound like a soldier in the jungle unaware the world has ended, but I love & share the enthusiasm for this vision.
